The future is here: It’s all the rage right now.
I’m not talking about the future, I’m talking about today. We live in a world where people want to travel, work remotely and work from home at the same time.
This has happened before. The world was smaller and travel easier. The world has changed since then. We have evolved, but we have also changed ourselves.
The human brain is a curious thing to work with. It takes time for new ideas to take hold and build a body of knowledge on them. New ideas can’t exist in a vacuum, they require an environment to live in.
The world of business and society is not the same as it was before, our society is filled with people whose world-views are out of balance, who don’t see the world as it is. And it is not a matter of being wrong about something, being right about something or having the right idea, but a matter of being right for the right reasons.
If you are the wrong person for a given job you will be fired. If you were born into a different time and place or if you are the wrong person for a given occupation you will not be hired or you will be fired. This is not as bad as it seems. People can’t learn anything new in an environment that has not changed at all or if it has changed, it only differs based on how the people who do not change perceive it.
It is a question of perception rather than reality.

You and I do not have a body of knowledge that is static, there is a constant exchange of new ideas and new stories that build on each other, so there is no such thing as “The World is Flat”. This is why the concept of the flat world isn’t so far away, it will exist someday and we can find a way to make it useful. We can make it useful by making it the way we want to see it and the way that we want to use it and the way that we want to live.
Everything is not meant to be a flat world.
The world is round, it is a sphere, it is a square, a cube, there’s no such thing as flat. No matter how far we travel, no matter how much we think we understand, there will always be things we don’t understand.
To become an effective digital nomad you need to be comfortable with uncertainty. If you have too much confidence, you will get too comfortable and not be able to move on. Being constantly comfortable is not a good way to grow.
You need to be constantly moving and you need to constantly fail. You will get too comfortable and start trying to have it all figured out and you will become satisfied with the results but you will not be able to go further. That is not a good way to grow. It takes a long time to build your confidence and it also takes time to build your ability to fail. The only way to build confidence and the only way to build a positive attitude is to fail and succeed. Fail and you build confidence. Fail and you learn something new. Failure also builds character, it builds confidence, it builds passion, it builds creativity and it builds resilience. Resilience is important because it will keep you going and it will help you keep going.
It will not make you quit.
You will finish what you started, you will learn something new, you will become a better person and you will never fail again. “Nothing lasts forever. Nothing”.
